Once upon a time, a group of Civil Engineers were brought together by a mutual love of flanges, helmets, and butt-welds. They realised that they sometimes needed a rest from their degree and so, in the airport lounge of Skempton House, CivSoc was born.
Since then, CivSoc has grown into one of the largest and most active department societies, offering sanctuary for every Civ-Enger at Imperial. Highlights of our calendar include the Three Bridges Pub Crawl, Sports Day and the Annual dinner, which are fantastic events that help you to meet people across the department. Another not-to-be-missed event is the CivSoc International tour, which sees the children of Skempton unleashed on a European city for a long weekend. Previousdestinations include Berlin, Rome and Athens.

We organise spectacular social events, such as the freshers’ dinner, club nights and bar nights which are hugely popular with a student price tag!
