Chair - Dan Cowen
The role of the chairman is to oversee all the activities within the Aeronautical Society. The chair, along with the treasurer look after the club's finances and make sure that any event is financially feasible. Chairing AeroSoc means looking after a society where students of all ages and backgrounds can unite.
Secretary - Andra Dima
The role of the secretary is very important. He/she is responsible for recording the discussions during the meetings but also to act as a conduit for passing information to the relevant people within/outside the committee as well as organizing future meetings.
Treasurer - Hisham Sherif
A successful treasurer should be able to budget and allocate funds as efficiently as possible, allowing the committee to offer the best experience possible to all of its members.
Events Officer - Nikhil Anand
As an events officer you will be required to organise many events, both social and academic. These may include sports such as football or basketball, out of University events such as Go-Karting or paintballing as well as bar nights and pub crawls.
Aeronautics Department Rep - Fred Miller
-As Departmental Representative, you take ultimate responsibility for making sure the student voice in Aeronautics is heard.
-At the heart of representation structure, you are the link between Year Reps and Faculty Union Academic Affairs Officers.
-It is your role to manage the Year Representative system below you and make sure communicating upwards and downwards and thus working effectively.
-You will attend Student Staff Committee meetings once a term to brief on the issues and concerns of Aeronautics and also frequent meetings with the CGCU.
-Work closely with AeroSoc to improve student satisfaction.
Industrial Liaison Officer - Teresh Amaratunga
My main role is maintain previous years' contacts with external companies in organising Site Tours and inviting them to give a presentation with our department. Also, new contacts have to made within the year at careers fair etc. This will take more effort in comparison to other departments solely, but definitely more fulfilling:) This is a great role as it helps brush up your networking skills and also (I hope) allow the first and second years to be more aware about seeking internships and also to create opportunities of interaction between companies and Aero students.
PR Officer - Adam Watkin
The role of the PR officer is to communicate ideas between the committee and the different year groups within the department. As PR officer, you'll be required to promote events to students and inform them of coming trips and talks within the department.
